The day after
Karmine Corpâs 3-1 defeat against G2 Esports,
Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert posted one of his rare post-match tweets to share his thoughts on the tough loss. G2 secured a dominant victory, with all three of their wins being outright stomps. The Blue Wall's young AD Carry bore the brunt of it, as G2âs well-prepared drafts completely shut him down.
The community was concerned about Karmine Corp's ability to protect its young prodigy, as Caliste was coming off his first major defeat in the LEC in a high-stakes BO series (a qualification match for the grand final of the split). He never truly had a chance to shine in the botlane 2v2, which was convincingly won by
Steven "Hans Sama" Liv and
Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis, despite having the opportunity to play high-impact picks like his signature Draven.
On
his X account, the rookie himself described it as "
the worst performance of [his] career" and apologized for his level of play, vowing to work tirelessly to come back stronger next weekend. These words wonât come as a surprise, as Caliste has repeatedly stated in recent interviews that he will do everything he can to honor the opportunity to play in Europeâs top league. To do so, he will need to step up his game on Summonerâs Rift, facing Fearless on Saturday at 6 PM CET in a BO5âhis opponent being the winner of the previous day's match between Fnatic and Movistar KOI. For now, Caliste can hold his head high as very few rookies have the chance to finish in the top 3 of their first LEC split.
