Team Vitality’s
LEC season is officially underway, with the squad currently sitting at an even record of one win and one loss in the
LEC Versus. The Bees opened their campaign with a victory over
SK Gaming before falling to
Natus Vincere on day two.
With Marek "Humanoid" Brázda joining the roster during the offseason, the team still appears to be in a transitional phase as it looks to establish itself more convincingly as a potential dark horse.
Now entering his third season with Team Vitality, AD Carry Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság has been reunited with his former midlaner, alongside whom he won the LEC in 2021. The player sat down with Sheep Esports to discuss his reunion with Humanoid, as well as his objectives for the season ahead.
What's your first impression after the game against NAVI? Are you frustrated by the result?
Matyáš "Carzzy" Orság: "Not really. I didn't expect us to play that well today because there is some sickness going on, so it is what it is.
Do you think you showed good things during these first two games?
Carzzy: I don't think we showed many good things today. I think yesterday we did. We were playing really aggressive and it was fun to play the game because it was like really proactive, something was happening all the time. And today was a lot worse than yesterday, we were just not really finding any opportunities in the game to fight.
You're finally able to play again with Humanoid for the first time in competitive since 2021. How does it feel to be able to play with him again?
Carzzy: I'm happy we can play together because it gives me this sense of nostalgia. We played together for two years when I was a rookie and we were really successful together. So I'm just really happy we can play together again and I'm having a lot of fun and enjoying it so far. It surely makes things easier because there is one less person that you can get tilted at.
What does he bring as a teammate to the team and in-game?
Carrzy: He brings a lot of macro, like calls in the game. When it comes to playing around side lanes and for the objectives, he just gives the team a way of playing the game.
What do you think you can aim with him in terms of results this year?
Carrzy: We are aiming for Worlds, so like top 3 minimum. And then we see how much further up we can climb. I think it is for sure doable this split.
What do you think you should improve and work up to match with other top teams?
Carrzy: I think we can already compete with the top teams with how we are playing right now, we just need to be at our best. We need to be more consistent in how we play because we have really good games sometimes, and then we have really bad games. It's a lot of energy-dependent. Sometimes, maybe someone is tired or something we need to take care of ourselves first.
As a player, what are your thoughts on the new season? Do you like the current state of the game?
Carrzy: I think it's quite nice so far, it brings something new, especially that they added duo queue (in high elo) back to the game, which helps a lot. That's the most important for me because I hate that they removed the duo queue and you had to play alone for the past five years or six years, something like that. It was really boring. That's the best thing they could have done. I really like that they added Stormrazor because it was my favorite item on Jhin, and champions like this that abuse movement speed. So I'm really happy they added this once again.
How did your offseason go? Did you want to continue with Vitality from the beginning?
Carzzy: Yeah, I wanted to continue with Vitality from the beginning. I wasn't fully satisfied of my first two years, but I really like the roster that we have now so I wanted to stay with them.
Can you talk to us about your motivation this year? Is there anything you want to show or prove this season?
Carzzy: I just want to be the best. Basically, I want to win. I would like to go to Worlds and go international with Vitality. Because I think that's what everyone wants to see from our team and the fans, of course. Vitality hasn't been at the international for quite some years. So that is my number one goal. I think we will be able to qualify for Worlds. In my head I think we should be top 3 contenders for sure."
