After G2 Esports and
Movistar KOI,
CTBC Flying Oyster become the third team eliminated from this Mid-Season Invitational, following a controlled 3-1 by Anyone's Legend. The LPL champions advance to the next round, where they will face the winner of Bilibili Gaming vs FlyQuest. CFO leave the tournament having claimed the first international BO5 win in the clubâs history against KOI. After making a strong impression during the First Stand, the Taiwanese squad have been a joy to watch at this MSIâeven in defeat. Next up for the LCP champions: the Esports World Cup.
On the side of AL, the team bounced back well after a close 3-2 loss to Gen.G in the Upper Bracket. Cui "
Shanks" Xiao-Jun and his squad took down CFO and logically secured their spot in the next round. A rematch of the LPL final is now possible, and from here on out, there's no room for errorâit's win or go home. Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong was named MVP of the series. The South Korean jungler is currently among the best in the world and plays a key role in dictating the pace and direction of his teamâs plays.
In the first round, Anyoneâs Legend had already dispatched FlyQuest 3-1, and now it was CFOâs turn to fall by the same scoreline. Game 1 saw a puzzling draft from the LCP champions, who left Yorick open for Li "
Flandre" Xuanjun and opted to blind pick Gragas. It didnât work out. Tarzan's Poppy found key ultimates in teamfights, creating consistent man-advantage situations, while Shanks, on Azir, outperformed Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hongâs Taliyah in midlane. In Game 2, CFO opened with Rumble and Corki, which gave AL the chance to secure comfort picks and counter with Galio top for Flandre.
Although AL were firmly in control with a +7,000 gold lead, a clutch Baron fight turned the game around briefly in CFOâs favor. They swung the gold to +5,000 in under ten minutes, but AL held firm and closed it out, putting CFO on the brink of elimination. Game 3 saw a resurgence from the LCP representatives, with Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-Chuan stepping up on Ezreal to keep his team in the tournament. But Game 4 sealed CFOâs fate. It was a relatively even early game, but once scaling kicked in, Anyoneâs Legend took over. Jinx got rolling, resets came through, and the game snowballed out of control. A second 3-1 victory in a row for AL, who remain alive at MSI and continue their lower bracket run.
