Primarily a Sentinel player with experience as a Duelist, Thander will be joining a Challengers network team as a full-time starter for the first time. UCAM is therefore taking a risk with this move, following a respectable Stage 1 performance. After securing second place in the regular season, the team advanced to the semifinals but was eliminated by DNSTY, falling short of a reverse sweep against the reigning Italian champions. As a reminder, the Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese leagues were merged this season, under the name of VCL Spain.
UCAM concluded Stage 1 in third-fourth place, narrowly missing out on qualification for the VCL EMEA, the VALORANT equivalent of
League of Legends' EMEA Masters. The organization is still pursuing its first
VALORANT title, having come agonizingly close in 2024 when it reached the Stage 2 final, only to fall 2-3 in a hard-fought grand final against Barça eSports. At present, UCAM is the only team in VCL Spain to have made roster adjustments ahead of the Stage 2 kickoff, scheduled for late March according to Liquipedia.
