League of Legends Esports is preparing to celebrate one of its most iconic eras with the League Classic Showmatches, bringing legendary players back onto a nostalgic Summoner's Rift. For longtime fans, it's a chance to relive the Season 3 days that helped define competitive League through unforgettable moments and players whose influence can still be seen in the way the game is played today. Every major region will host its own Classic Showmatch, including the LCK, NA LCS, EU LCS, LPL, and LATAM.
The LCK League Classic Showmatch will take place on August 4. And what makes this match unmissable are the names featured in the event. It will feature two Legends Teams with some of the biggest names from the region's 2010’s competitive era, like Choi "inSec" In-seok — yes, the insec kick was named after him — and Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyun is still remembered as one of the most influential supports the region has produced.
LCK League Classic Showmatch players
The first Legends Team combines world champions and veteran stars from some of Korea's most successful organizations. Toplaner Jang "Looper" Hyeong-seok won the 2014 World Championship with Samsung White, while jungler Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon built a reputation as one of Korea's most consistent junglers.
In the midlane, Heo "PawN" Won-seok remains one of the few players remembered for regularly challenging Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok during his prime, in addition to lifting the Summoner's Cup in 2014. ADC Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin became a world champion with SK Telecom T1 in 2013 thanks to his exceptional mechanics, while support Yi "Heart" Gwan-hyung later transitioned into coaching after captaining Samsung White to its dominant Worlds victory.
Starting from the toplane, in the second Legend Team we'll see Yoon "MakNooN" Ha-woon, who became famous for his aggressive carry-oriented style — and paired with possibly InSec's Lee Sin that would spell trouble for their opponents. In the midlane the team will play with Lee "Kuro" Seo-haeng, who established himself as one of Korea's most dependable midlaners during his years with ROX Tigers.
Rounding out the lineup are two beloved veterans from the botlane, ADC Kang "Cpt Jack" Hyung-woo, who is forever associated with his lightning-fast reactions, and GorillA, also known for — at the time — suprisingly innovative champion picks such as the Miss Fortune support that changed the professional meta.
