This Spring split,
sold toplaner Cho “
” Hyeon-seong off to
in a rare mid-season player swap. To fill the position in Castle’s stead, Australian toplaner Jett Michael “
” Joye was suddenly brought in as a substitute, where he played four games as DSG’s temporary top, winning 2-0 vs. Dignitas, his former team, and losing 0-2 to Shopify Rebellion. In those four games, DSG must’ve liked what they saw, because according to
Sheep Esports sources, Srtty will be moving forward as the team’s starting toplaner as they head into Summer split.
LCS fans have seen Srtty, in his early career, put up very solid performances despite a number of strange team situations. A great 2024 in Tier 2 saw Srtty garner much hype around his career after winning NACL and CLOL both, as well as achieving Rank 1 in solo queue repeatedly. Expectations for his rookie split on Dignitas were sky-high, though tempered somewhat by Dignitas’ incredible toplaner turnover rate, Srtty having joined in 2025 as the sixth toplaner for the team in three years. Within two splits, he was gone.
A rocky history in the LCS
The team made the abrupt decision to bench him despite great performance for Kyeong “Photon” Gyu-tae, who had placed 9th in LEC and had a 6th-to-5th year in the Turkish league. Srtty next subbed into LYON for a then visa-less Frankie “
” Lin, and then, departing after the split finished, subbed in to Disguised for a traded-away Castle. But Disguised, unlike LYON, will be committing to Srtty, and begin Summer split with him as starting toplaner.
Castle, who Srtty is replacing, was widely regarded one of the strongest points on the otherwise-lackluster DSG rosters of the last two years. Despite his standout performances, results did not come, and now on LYON, he’s competing for the toplane spot with Niship “
” Doshi, who has started exclusively in the last two series against Team Liquid and Cloud9.
Disguised, a team created by popular Twitch streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, has had a rocky history since joining the LCS. They were promoted from NACL after 2024 to join the then-LTA-North as a provisional team, and have placed poorly ever since. While they were a solid NACL team composed initially of largely former C9 Academy members, followed by other quality prospects, upon joining Tier 1 and picking up another all-new roster, they have failed to make playoffs even once. Srtty, who has made playoffs, in 2025 Split 2, may be just what the team needs to unlock the next level of play and become a serious competitor.
