Movistar KOI have established themselves as one of the best teams of 2025. After claiming a new European championship title in the Spring Split, qualifying for Worlds, and standing clearly as the LECâs second-best team of the year â largely thanks to
the arrival of Joseph Joon âJojopyunâ Pyun a year ago â the top Spanish organization is set to keep its full roster intact and enter 2026 on very solid ground.
On November 11,
Ibai Llanos, co-owner of Movistar KOI, and Sergio â
SergioFFerraâ Salcedo hosted a talk show on the KOI Twitch channel, where they
shared key updates about MKOIâs League of Legends team and the organization at large. They confirmed that
the lineup will remain unchanged for at least one more year, while the club is actively negotiating contract extensions with several of its players.
Among those prioritized by the team are Javier âElyoyaâ Prades, Jojopyun, and Ălvaro âAlvaroâ FernĂĄndez del Amo, who are all expected to re-sign with the club through 2027. On the other hand, David âSupaâ GarcĂa and Alex âMyrwnâ Villarejo have yet to enter extension talks and are reportedly lower priorities for the organization. Their current contracts run until the end of 2026 and could be extended later in the year depending on their upcoming performances.
Movements in the coaching staff
The real changes this offseason are happening behind the scenes. As first reported by
Sheep Esports and later made official by the club,
TomĂĄs âMelzhetâ Campelos has renewed his contract with Movistar KOI through 2028 â a landmark extension for someone whose role extends far beyond that of a traditional head coach. In charge of MKOIâs main roster since 2024, Melzhet also oversees the organizationâs academy team and is one of the key figures guiding the clubâs overall
League of Legends direction.
He will be joined by several new faces on the coaching staff. With
Quentin âZephâ ViguiĂ© leaving for KarmineâŻCorp and BjĂžrn-Vegar â
Hansenâ Hansen also departing, Movistar KOI have brought
Los Heretics' head coach Eric âIndependentâ Ruiz Bogurina to the role of assistant coach, where he will take primary charge of drafting â a duty previously held by Zeph. The team has also brought in
Barney âAlphariâ Morris, marking his return to the LEC for the first time as an assistant coach. Known for his reliability in lane, heâs also expected to share his extensive experience with players in his new role as a positional coach.
These hires were chosen among a strong pool of offâseason candidates, which reportedly included Pablo â
Gaaxâ PĂ©rez (who has been with Fnatic for two years and
will stay there through 2026), VĂctor â
Machukiâ Segura, and Andrei â
Odoamneâ Pascu from LosâŻRatones.
