Established in 2024, the Hall of Legends is Riot Games’ way of honoring the players who have made League of Legends history. With this format, the North American publisher inducts one person per year and, alongside the honor, offers a full celebration around them, including skins for some of their iconic champions, as well as a purchasable battle pass and more.

How does the Hall of Legends work?

According to the official page on Riot Games’ website, players who have competed in Tier 1 leagues for a minimum of five years are eligible to receive this honor, whether in current leagues such as the LCK, LPL, or LEC, or former leagues such as the TCL, LLA, LJL, etc. It is worth noting that, as is the case with some of the names already honored, active players are eligible as well, not just those whose competitive careers have ended.

Since the introduction of the Hall of Legends, three players have currently been honored. They were selected by “a panel of judges representing regional leagues and esports communities [who] vote from a list of candidates based on criteria,” according to the official website. Among the criteria taken into account are “international and regional titles, contributions to the sport and competitive meta, and accolades,” as well as much more, when compiling the candidate lists prepared by Riot Games.

In addition to receiving this honor, the players receive a share of the revenue generated by League of Legends content related to the Hall of Legends, including skins. Alongside the share they receive, another portion of this revenue is distributed to the player’s former teams, as well as “the broader global team ecosystem.” Thus, “Esports cosmetic items, including Hall of Legends content, will contribute to the Global Revenue Pool,” while “Inductees and their respective teams will receive a portion of the 30% gross revenue generated from pass and collection sales.”

also won two Mid-Season Invitationals in 2016 and 2017; an Esports World Cup title in 2024; as well as a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. Alongside these titles, he also has two lost Worlds finals, in 2022 and 2017, as well as three lost MSI finals.

Faker is known as one of the best players to ever step foot on Summoner’s Rift. Known for his relentless drive and otherworldly skill with almost any champion, Faker has earned the moniker “The Demon King” with fans and pros alike. He has won countless tournaments, including multiple World Championships as a foundational member of T1. For his induction into the HoL in 2024, Riot Games and Faker introduced three different skins. Ahri received two of them, Risen Legend Ahri and Immortalized Legend Ahri, alongside a skin for LeBlanc, Risen Legend LeBlanc.

Hall of Legends 2025 - Uzi

After Faker, the biggest South Korean star in League of Legends, it was Jian "Uzi" Zihao who received the honors of the entire ecosystem in May 2025. Active on the scene since 2012, the Chinese AD Carry does not have the most decorated trophy cabinet, but he is the most well-known LoL personality in his country, even becoming the first esports athlete to sign with Nike. Despite six Worlds appearances, Uzi never managed to lift the ultimate trophy, coming within touching distance twice, in 2013 and 2014, when he reached the grand final. He did, however, win the 2018 Mid-Season Invitational with Royal Never Give Up, as well as an Asian Games gold medal that same year, notably defeating Faker in the final.
