BLG toplaner Wenbo sidelined after suffering wrist injury

’s summer troubles have not yet ended. Despite qualifying for Worlds 2026 earlier this week, toplaner was just announced to be taking a step back from the team following an incident that led to him suffering a wrist injury, rendering him unable to compete with the squad.

According to the team, Wenbo suffered the injury after slipping and falling on a wet road in the rain. The 19-year-old suffered a wrist contusion, with a possible fracture and joint instability.

As a result, the rookie will miss out on traveling with the team and will have to undergo further examinations to determine the severity of his injury. Until then, it remains unclear when Wenbo will be able to return to competitive play. For now, is expected to start in the team’s remaining regular-season matches, though rumors of ’s return continue to echo through social media.

Despite much success internationally, the Chinese juggernauts have not had an easy year thus far in 2026. What seemed like a straightforward road for the now back-to-back LPL champions in Splits 1 and 2, as well as First Stand champions and MSI runner-ups, Bilibili Gaming have been faced with many challenges ever since they left Daejeon. Indeed, following a rather disappointing quarterfinals exit at the Esports World Cup, fans were shocked to learn that the team’s storied toplaner Bin had decided to take a step back from his starting position due to health and condition concerns.

Since then, the team’s academy toplaner Wenbo has filled in the toplane slot for the squad. Throughout his time in the LPL, the young player has gone a cumulative 14-6 in the league and has decently held his own, even if his form remains not as good as Bin’s in his prime. Due to this, and most likely because of concerns over Bin’s long-term situation, the team recently signed Flandre, who was traded over from after a near two-year tenure. Since then, the veteran 27-year-old toplaner has started in every game played by the kings of the LPL.

Nevertheless, as Flandre has asserted his position as the team’s starter and notably allowed them to clinch a playoff spot and qualify for Worlds, rumors of Bin’s return now appear to be looming in the distance. Though this news remains only a rumor for now, LPL reporter Park recently posted that Bin could be expected to return either for the last one or two matches of the regular split or in the playoffs in order to compete for the starting toplaner spot. This puts into question what could be the team’s strategy heading into the final stages of the year and Worlds 2026.

With Wenbo’s return timeline still unclear, Bilibili Gaming will have to move forward without a definitive answer on when their young toplaner could return, if he even does. The team currently sits firmly near the top of the LPL standings, with four regular-season matches still to play. BLG will face Team WE today before taking on LGD Gaming, Top Esports, and Anyone’s Legend next week.

Following the regular season, Bilibili Gaming will turn their attention to the LPL playoffs before heading to Worlds 2026 in October. Whether Wenbo will be available by then, however, remains unknown.
