As the release of Riftbound — League of Legends Trading Card Game — fourth expansion approaches, these past couple of weeks Riot Games has been unveiling the art for an upcoming unique overnumber edition. These Connecting Art Overnumbers were first revealed during the 2026 Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) Expo back in March.
When shown side by side, the illustrations depict two rival Champion Unit cards fighting. These illustrations will be presented as diptychs, or artworks consisting of two matching parts. The newest expansion, Vendetta, draws inspiration from the most iconic rivalries across all of Runeterra and will be released on July 31st, 2026.

What’s the original expansion of each Connecting Art Overnumbered?
League of Legends’ vast lore has allowed Vendetta to choose rivalries from across the ten regions of Runeterra. However, though the art created for the diptychs will be newly created for the fourth expansion, some cards from previous expansions were chosen to receive this special art.
Four cards released in the first expansion, Origins, will receive this special overnumber edition. From the four cards released in the inaugural expansion, only the Sisters of Zaun share the same set release as their rival. These cards are Vi Destructive, Jinx Demolitionist, Viktor Innovator, and Leona Determined. A fifth set 1 card, Draven, Showboat, was unveiled on July 16th.
The set with the least Connecting Art Overnumbered cards is Spiritforged, at least until July 16. The first card revealed from set 2 was Jayce, Man of Progress, who is connected with Viktor. The second card revealed was Irelia, Fervent, who is responsible for taking Swain’s hand.
The current expansion, Unleashed, has unveiled two massive rivalries: one of the most iconic hunts, and the complement to the Sun. Tied to their eternal hunt for a worthy opponent, Rengar, Trophy Hunter, and Kha’Zix, Evolving Hunter were the first cards unleashed to the public from set 3. The dichotomy to Leona is Diana, No Longer Human, the card that completes that diptych and the final card from Unleashed.
Finally, the five remaining cards will all be introduced during set 4. Bilgewater’s lovers’ quarrel, Gangplank, Naval and Illaoi, Prophet of the Great Kraken were the first Connecting Art Overnumbered revealed to be released through Vendetta. The second pair revealed were the Medarda Mother and Daughter with Ambessa, Respected and Feared, and Mel, Defiant Soul cards.
The third Vendetta pairing revealed was the Shuriman Aspects and Warring Brothers: Renekton, Brute and Nasus, Guardian of Knowledge. Zed, From the Shadow was revealed days before his childhood friend, Shen, Scourge of Shadows, was revealed. Swain, Visionary was unveiled on July 16 in China, with some mixed reactions from the community. Riven, Shattered will be available during the pre-release phase of set 4, and is the most recent Vendetta card unveiled on July 16.
When will the last cards be revealed?
The Vendetta Preview Season started on July 6 and will end on July 17th. There are 9 cards to be revealed over the next couple of days before the preview season ends.
