As recently reported by
Sheep Esports,
T1 Academy player Kang "
DH" Dong-ho is in the process of joining the South Korean organization's
VCT roster for the second time, meaning the team has been searching for his replacement. This transition period now appears to be nearing its conclusion, as the club has reached a verbal agreement with Oh "
wezzy" Min-seo to replace DH, sources tell
Sheep Esports.
Active in
Challengers Korea since 2024, the young South Korean player has only made a handful of brief appearances in the national league, typically for one split per year and each time with a different organization, alongside several appearances in various qualification tournaments. This inconsistency and sporadic presence may also be explained by the fact that he is still only 18 years old and will turn 19 next November. Primarily active on Duelists, including Yoru and Jett,
wezzy is expected to replace DH role for role, with DH having mainly played that position during his most recent split with T1 Academy.
Having joined T1 at the start of 2025 following a competitive year in VCL Japan, DH quickly established himself within the club's academy roster, to the point of earning a call-up to the main team midway through the season. During his time in tier one, he adapted rapidly and helped his organization secure a place at
VALORANT Champions Paris 2025 after a Top 4 finish in VCT Pacific Stage 2. After finishing in the Top 9-12 at the World Championship and competing in two off-season events, DH returned to the academy roster and Challengers Korea at the beginning of 2026.
As an affiliated team of a VCT organization, T1 Academy automatically qualified for the league and did not have to go through the qualifiers to participate in Split 1. Finishing second in the regular season with five wins and two losses, DH and his teammates comfortably secured a playoff berth and even avoided the opening round of the postseason. However, they were upset 2-1 by Gen.G Esports Academy, dropping into the lower bracket. With their backs against the wall, T1A responded with victories over DRX Academy and Dplus before meeting Gen.G once again in the lower bracket final. This rematch proved far more one-sided in favor of the other major South Korean organization, which swept T1A 3-0 to secure its place in the grand final.
