Corrode is a post-apocalyptic version of Mont-Saint-Michel
Riot Games officially unveiled Corrode on June 22, 2025, marking the twelfth map in VALORANT. The reveal took place during an exhibition showmatch just before the Toronto Masters Grand Final. The map is set to launch on June 25 with the v11.00 update for the 2025 Season // Act IV. Designed for competitive 5v5 play, Corrode becomes the largest map in the game to date, according to the developers, featuring a vast 360-degree environment around the central arena.
Set in a post-apocalyptic version of Mont-Saint-Michel - on Omega Earth in the game’s lore - Corrode immerses players in a setting that blends medieval French architecture with industrial infrastructure built for radianite extraction.

Immediately integrated into the competitive mode
In terms of gameplay, Corrode follows a basic three-lane structure, with two spike sites, labeled A and B. Its design aims to reduce the overreliance on abilities, encouraging a playstyle more focused on movement, timing, and information gathering. This is supported by the increased presence of verticality and fallback options for defenders.

The map will be immediately integrated into the competitive mode upon release in patch 11.00, with a temporary system that reduces Rank Rating losses of 50% on defeats during the first two weeks, while still granting full rating gains on victories. A Corrode-exclusive Swiftplay mode will also be available from June 25 to 30, 2025, allowing players to explore the map without the risk of rank demotion.
It's worth noting that several rumors had already emerged around 2024, with some leaks suggesting a code name of "Bastion." This could be the name given to Corrode during its development.
