Karmine Corp qualify for the Grand Final on June 19
The Champions lived up to expectations. On Tuesday, the Blue Wall dominated its VCT EMEA Game Changers Stage 2 Semifinal against GIANTX and therefore qualified for the Grand Finals. There was plenty of tension and domination as Karmine Corp made a statement against the Spanish team, sweeping the best-of-three series 2-0. KC are now one win away from lifting the trophy for the second time in a row, and will face on June 19 in the Grand Final the winner of the Lower Bracket Final between GIANTX vs. SK Nebula.
The best-of-three series began in Split, where Karmine Corp and GIANTX went head-to-head in a tense first half. The teams were tied 6-6 at halftime. GX showed resilience, with Nur “Eva” Çakır top-fragging on Skye. However, Karmine Corp's discipline shone through in the late game. As the score reached 10-10, KC seized momentum with a crucial win in a thrifty round to break the stalemate. Safia “Safiaa” Leghzal then stepped up with a multi-kill defensive hold in the final moments. The Blue Wall claimed Split 13-10 after winning the last three rounds.
If Split was competitive, Haven was a showcase of sheer dominance from Karmine Corp. Starting on attack, the Blue Wall raced to a 10-2 lead by halftime, overwhelming GX with quick executions and perfect trades. Şura ”Jiex” Yıldırım was on fire as the Karmine Corp Controller amassed 20 kills on Omen, slicing through defenses round after round. In contrast, GX struggled to gain a foothold. Even their star Duelist, Yağmur “Smurfette” Gündüz, was silenced. After switching to defense on Haven, Karmine Corp slammed the door with a flawless second half, not dropping a single round after the side swap. They closed out Haven 13-2, completing the 2-0 sweep.
Blue Wall’s Game Changers rise
This victory continues the meteoric rise of Karmine Corp’s roster. The team only entered the women’s VALORANT scene in 2023, but they have quickly become an EMEA powerhouse. Earlier this season, Karmine Corp conquered Stage 1 of the tournament, and now they’re on the verge of back-to-back titles. The organization, famous in League of Legends, has successfully translated its winning culture to Riot’s FPS. Karmine's triumph over long-standing giants of the GC scene such as G2 Gozen and GIANTX signals a changing of the guard in the EMEA region. With talented pickups like Anastasia “Anesilia” Ivanova and Azra “Alkyia” Erin joining at the start of 2025, the roster has gelled into a lethal unit. The GIANTX lineup, featuring veterans such as Smurfette and Neslişah “Ness” Demir, had no answers for the Blue Wall’s coordination and firepower in this semifinal.
For GX, revenge is possible. A win over SK Nebula is needed to reach the VCT Game Changer Stage 2 final on Wednesday, June 18. On the other hand, SK Gaming’s Nebula lineup is looking to play spoiler and reach their first Game Changers final. Whoever their opponent may be, Karmine Corp will enter the championship match as clear favorites given their formidable form.
