Shopify Rebellion continues to assert its dominance over the North American Game Changers scene. Having already won all three splits of the 2024 season, the team added yet another accolade to its collection with a fourth straight title on Sunday. SR overcame Wadaaa in four maps (3-1), taking control early with clean victories on Pearl (13-6) and Haven (13-4), before conceding Sunset (10-13), their second map pick.

Wadaaa — the Kickoff champions earlier this year in a tournament SR did not attend — came close to pushing the best-of-five to a fifth map, earning four map points on Lotus at 12-8. However, led by in-game leader Melanie "meL" Capone, Shopify managed to win all four crucial rounds and eventually closed out the map in overtime (14-12). Despite the loss, Wadaaa remains the only team to have taken maps off the reigning two-time world champions this split.

Prior to this final, Shopify Rebellion Gold had already defeated Wadaaa twice: once in the Swiss Stage (2-1), and again two days earlier in the upper bracket final (2-1).

A Great Ambassador of the Women's Scene

The title marks the fourth consecutive championship for four SR players: meL, Alexis "alexis" Guarrasi, Nicole "Noia" Tierce, and Sarah "sarah" Simpson. Joining the roster this year as a replacement for Ava "florescent" Eugene, Thai player Karnthida "dodonut" Chaisrakeo celebrated her first title in the competition. The former FlyQuest RED Duelist had previously suffered three finals losses in 2024... all at the hands of Shopify.

This victory marks Shopify's first trophy of the year. However, the team had already made VALORANT history in January 2025 by becoming the first all-women roster to qualify for Challengers North America, the region’s mixed Tier 2 competition. While the team struggled to produce results during Stage 1, Shopify has remained, for the past three years, one of the most prominent representatives of the women's VALORANT scene.
