VALORANT: Paper Rex move mindfreak to reserve status

On Monday, in a move emphasizing strategic foresight over impulse, Paper Rex transitioned Assistant Coach Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart from their active VALORANT team to a restricted free agent and reserve role. Mindfreak, a long-standing member of the organisation since its early VCT days, retains full permission to explore external competitive opportunities while remaining on standby for PRX if required.

Since joining Paper Rex’s VALORANT roster in February 2021, following his transition from their initial CS:GO team, mindfreak has played a key role in the squad’s Asian and global success. Following his move to reserve status, he has taken on a dual role as both mentor and substitute, providing tactical coaching while remaining ready to play.

Mindfreak has been a consistent presence in the PRX team since its VALORANT inception, qualifying for three Champions and eight Masters events. His adaptability across maps and roles has been essential to Paper Rex’s international victories, including their historic win at the Masters in Toronto, where he was assistant coach.

The roster change comes ahead of Stage 2, but follows Paper Rex's breakthrough triumph at Masters Toronto. Newcomer Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza is stepping in. Mindfreak’s shift is not an exit, but a repositioning. His strategic acumen and calm leadership will continue to shape PRX from within while he explores new competitive opportunities.
