Patch 11.01 Skipped This Week
On July 14, 2025, Riot Games announced the cancellation of the Patch 11.01, which was scheduled for release that week. Lead developer Kenny "Karnifexlol" Cameron explained on the official VALORANT blog that the team was pausing the release to focus on the upcoming transition to Unreal Engine 5, and that all the planned changes would be delayed until Patch 11.02 on July 29.
There will be no gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, or balance adjustments this week, and players will remain on Patch 11.00, which introduced the new map "Corrode" on 24 June.
What’s Coming in Patch 11.02 (July 29)
According to Riot, the migration from UE4 to UE5 is intended to maintain the current visuals and gameplay while enhancing frame rates, rendering performance, and the efficiency of future updates.
The update should not disrupt gameplay and will be released with Patch 11.02. According to community leaks from VALORANTLeaksEN on X, at least 30 GB of free disk space will be required to accommodate the engine upgrade. An SSD is strongly advised for faster downloads and installation.
Unreal Engine 5’s core features, including Nanite and Lumen, should enable improved performance, smoother CPU/GPU usage, and a more consistent framerate. Both Riot's messaging and player discussions reiterate that performance will be better or at least not worse. The timing aligns perfectly with VCT Stage 2 starting on 16 July, so this offers a natural break and consistent meta window.
