A fresh chapter for Sentinels' academy in NA Challengers
Cubert Academy, the second team of Sentinels in VALORANT, has announced on Thursday the arrival of two new players and a new coach. Álvaro "WKN" Bustos will take over as Head Coach, replacing Michael “dapr” Gulino, who recently stepped away from the project competing in the North America Challengers League.
Mirel "Kyu" Braco Hrustemovic and "satellite" complete what is currently a six-man roster within Cubert. The latter is switching teams after a year and a half with Ambrosia, where he competed in three splits of VCL NA. The Canadian Duelist reunites with satellite, whom he previously played with on Ambrosia for several months before satellite joined M80. That stint ended with a Stage 1 finals loss to Shopify Rebellion Black, after which the organization decided to withdraw from the game due to a lack of returns.
The duo steps in to replace Logan “skuba” Jenkins, who moved to NRG in VCT Americas at the end of the previous split. As for results, Cubert finished fourth in Split 1, following a lower bracket loss to M80 and Kyu. In the following season, Sentinels Academy secured a top 4 finish in the regular season but collapsed in the playoffs, suffering back-to-back losses to Winthrop and YFP, ultimately finishing in a disappointing 7th-8th place.
Cubert Academy Roster for Split 3:
- Yassin "reduxx" Aboulalazm
- Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar
- Christian "nightz" Smith
- Travis "tdawgg" Regan
- Mirel "Kyu" Braco Hrustemovic
- "satellite"
- Álvaro "WKN" Bustos (coach)
