The veteran Korean flex player exits Gen.G after a brief stint
Seo “Suggest” Jae-young has left Gen.G’s VALORANT roster, the organization announced on July 30, 2025. In a statement on X, Gen.G confirmed that it had mutually agreed to terminate Suggest's contract, noting that this decision had been made following thorough discussions to enable the 22-year-old to join a new team. The club thanked Suggest for his dedicated attitude and behind-the-scenes contributions.
Suggest joined Gen.G in March 2025 as the team’s sixth player, after a period away from top-level play. However, his time with the Tigers was brief. He only appeared in two Pacific Stage 1 group-stage games for Gen.G: a 2–0 loss to BOOM Esports on 24 March and a 2–1 win over Paper Rex on 30 March. The entirety of Suggest’s on-stage play for Gen.G consists of those two games on Haven and Ascent versus BOOM and the Haven, Fracture, and Lotus maps versus Paper Rex. He did not feature in the playoffs, and his Stage 1 participation constituted his entire competitive play with the Gen.G banner.
Before Gen.G, Suggest had been a veteran of the Korean and Japanese VALORANT scenes. He first rose to prominence with NUTURN Gaming, helping that squad to finish third at VCT Masters Reykjavík 2021. Following the dissolution of NUTURN at the end of 2021, Suggest joined the Japanese team DetonatioN FocusMe. He made an immediate impact, achieving one of the highest player ratings in the 2022 Japanese Challengers Stage 2. However, DFM failed to qualify for international events. He competed in several VCT Pacific matches for DFM in 2023 before the team released him. His signing with Gen.G in March 2025 was seen as a return to elite competition, but the contract was short-lived.
Gen.G’s official roster now consists of five active players :
- Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
- Kim “Karon” Won-tae
- Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom
- Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung
- Ha “Ash” Hyun-cheol
