A new chapter after a difficult 2025 season
After a turbulent 2025 season, marked by a negative record in VALORANT VCT Americas, an early exit from the Esports World Cup, and failure to qualify for any Riot-hosted international events, Evil Geniuses have opted for a heavily reworked foundation rather than extending the life of last year’s lineup. The North American organisation officially unveiled its new roster for 2026 at the end of November, centred around veteran Phat "supamen" Le, who has remained with the club since early 2024.
The new five now consists of Corbin "C0M" Lee, supamen, Bao "bao" Nguyen, Anthony "Okeanos" Nguyen, and Douglas "dgzin" Silva. bao arrives directly from NA tier two, where he recently played for his place in the league with SaD Esports and helped the team avoid relegation to remain in VCL. Alongside him, the young Okeanos is a relatively new face at the tier-one level, having made a good impression after briefly joining Leviatán ahead of VCT Americas Stage 2 but falling just before the Champions Paris qualification. For dgzin, he joins following a third-place finish at VCT Ascension Americas 2025 with Team Solid.
Returns, new faces, and continuity in the staff
C0M’s case is emblematic of the 2026 project. A starter for EG in 2022 and World Champions in 2023, he departed the organisation in January 2024 before landing at Leviatan, remaining one of the more established names in the Americas region. Seeing him come back in a major role underlines the organisation’s intention to lean once again on a profile it knows well, and that has already been tested in previous seasons. For his part, supamen, who joined EG in January 2024, is the only holdover from last year’s starting five and now serves as the link between the previous iteration and this new project.
In the background, Evil Geniuses are opting for stability on the staff side: Christine "potter" Chi continues to lead the team as head coach, while Mike "pho" Panza retains his position as assistant coach. Together, they will oversee this thoroughly reshaped group, with Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison still under contract but now inactive and exploring his options, according to Sheep Esports.
For EG, the first official test of this new version will come at VCT 2026: Americas Kickoff in Los Angeles, where twelve teams will compete for the first spots at Masters Santiago. With a mix of returning figures, young talent drawn from Challengers and VCT Americas, and a retained coaching staff, Evil Geniuses approach this new cycle with a clear roadmap: turn this reset into a genuine relaunch, re-establish a durable presence near the top of the American standings, and secure a return to international tournaments.
