aspas claims the 1st place of the Top 5 best K:D at Champions Paris
The fifth edition of VALORANT Champions, the game’s annual world championship, came to a close on Sunday, October 5. Representing VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Americas, NRG lifted the trophy after a thrilling 3–2 victory over Fnatic in the grand final. The win marks North America’s second-ever Champions title, following Evil Geniuses’ triumph in 2023.
On Wednesday, October 8, Riot Games released the official ranking of the top five Kill/Death ratios among players who competed in at least 100 rounds during the event. This top five features four different teams and three regions: MIBR (VCT Americas), Fnatic (VCT EMEA), XLG Esports (VCT China), and NRG (VCT Americas).
The King and the Rest
1. MIBR – Erick “aspas” Santos — 1.66 K/D
The 2022 World Champion once again dominated headlines at Champions Paris. While many doubted MIBR’s ability to contend with the best teams in the world, the Brazilian squad silenced their critics — finishing in the 5th–6th position.
Leading the charge was aspas, whose K/D ratio towers over everyone else’s. His explosive performances were filled with aces, multi-kills, and highlight moments throughout the entire tournament. He even set a new record for the most kills in a single best-of-three at a global event, tallying an incredible 80 eliminations against NRG. Once again, he justified his nickname, “The Final Boss”.
2. MIBR – Gabriel “cortezia” Cortez — 1.27 K/D
While aspas took most of the spotlight, MIBR’s Sentinel, cortezia, also shone brightly in Paris. The Brazilian player stepped up in crucial moments — particularly during the group stage and early playoff rounds — delivering key clutches and impact frags that helped MIBR maintain their momentum and push deep into the event.
3. Fnatic – Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski — 1.20 K/D
The Polish prodigy of Fnatic lived up to the hype. Continuing his breakout year, kaajak played a pivotal role in Fnatic’s impressive run to the grand final in Paris. Although the start of the tournament was a bit complicated, the duelist quickly found his rhythm — becoming one of Fnatic’s most reliable clutch players.
His standout performances included nearly 70 kills against Paper Rex and 90 kills against NRG, often topping the scoreboard and proving himself one of the deadliest fraggers of Champions 2025.
4. XLG Esports – James “NoMan” Man — 1.18 K/D
For most of the season, Teng “happywei” Min-wei had been XLG’s standout player. But at Champions, it was NoMan who rose to the occasion. Despite XLG’s 9th–12th place finish, the flex player impressed across several agent roles — whether Initiator, Sentinel, or Duelist.
NoMan consistently opened rounds, created space, and ended matches near the top of the scoreboard, cementing himself as a major bright spot in XLG’s international campaign.
5. NRG – Brock “brawk” Somerhalder — 1.17 K/D
Rounding out the top five is none other than the Champions 2025 MVP, brawk. Despite being in his rookie year, the young American delivered world-class performances on VALORANT’s biggest stage, helping NRG claim the world title.
His growth throughout the event culminated in a stellar grand final, where he posted an 84/61/40 KDA and a 239 Average Combat Score (ACS) — outperforming nearly every other player in the series, except for kaajak.
