Champions Paris marks the first VALORANT world championship to break into the Top 3 most-watched events in the game’s history since the 2022 edition
The VALORANT Champions 2025 have just concluded this Sunday, October 5th, with American squad NRG claiming a thrilling 3-2 victory over VCT EMEA’s Fnatic at the Accor Arena in Paris. While the venue typically accommodates between 15,000 and 16,000 spectators for sporting events, the number of viewers tuning in online was also important.
According to Esports Charts, Champions 2025 became the third most-watched VALORANT event in history, reaching a peak viewership of 1,473,642. This milestone comes as the game celebrated its fifth anniversary in June, marking Champions Paris as the fifth edition of VALORANT’s world championship.
The Champions don’t take the gold medal
The 2025 edition could be considered as a success. Indeed, Champions Paris marks the first VALORANT world championship to break into the Top 3 most-watched events in the game’s history since the 2022 edition. The only other Champions tournaments in the Top 5 are Champions 2022 (2nd) and Champions 2024 (5th).
However, the world championships still fell short of the peak viewership of what could be considered as a smaller-scale events: The Masters. The 2024 edition of Madrid remains the most-watched VALORANT event ever, drawing 1,687,848 peak viewers. As previously noted, Champions 2022 is in second place with 1,505,804 peak viewers, and the LOCK//IN in São Paulo (2023) ranks 4th with 1,444,670 peak viewers.
