The
continue to bleed, now sitting at 1–6 with little hope left in their
2026 LEC Spring Split. After another loss to
, the Spanish squad is running out of time, despite already making two roster changes this split. With just two matches remaining against
and
, the team will need to bounce back and at least aim to go out on a high note.
In an exclusive interview,
Sheep Esports spoke with the team’s newly appointed jungler,
, about his arrival in the roster, similarities with his previous LEC experience, playoff chances, and the team’s motivation.
How does it feel, especially joining the split midway like this? It’s somewhat similar to what happened in Vitality back then when Zhou "Bo" Yang-Bo was replaced mid-split. How do you feel about the situation?
Kacper "Daglas" Dagiel: It feels the same as two years ago [in
]. Because of that, I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. Of course, we tried our best, but we played against a really good team. I’m back in the LEC, so I know I have to adapt to much better players, and MKOI showed how well prepared they were today.
How did everything leading up to your arrival in Berlin and this first match go? You were only announced a few days ago, so you likely had very limited time to scrim with the team. How was that whole process for you?
Daglas: I was told about my promotion on Wednesday, and I had to play an official in the
LES that same night. I was supposed to travel the following day, but we ran into logistic issues at the airport, so I had to train remotely with the LEC team on Thursday. Then, when I arrived on Friday, I got to play two scrim blocks with the team. It wasn’t much, but it’s not like I came into our match against MKOI without any practice. We had some preparations for the match still.
With your coach saying the team is mainly building toward 2027, how do you feel joining a project that is currently struggling? Does that worry you as a player, especially given your past experience and the risk it could have on your career?
Daglas: Yeah, I can see that argument. Obviously, our team is not in a great state, but it’s on us to find ways to improve that. Our team’s structure isn’t bad, it’s about work ethic and habits around scrims. From the few blocks I got to play, I can already tell that the atmosphere around practicing is not going well, and that kind of things will impact you in officials. I want to put everyone on the same page and make sure they agree with how I want to play the game. We need to approach practice better, that’s what matters the most along with building bonds and relationships.
Do you feel like some players on the team might be a bit demotivated because of the results?
Daglas: It’s hard to say. I would say that I get along pretty well with everyone right now: I talked with
a lot when I arrived, I have good relations with the coaches,
is still my friend from back then in academy, and
and
are just funny guys, both in and outside of game. I can’t really tell if anyone is demotivated, if they are, they’re not showing it. It all comes down to everyone’s individual mindset. In any case, that aligns with what I want: I want to make sure everyone has a good mindset, especially for practicing. We’ll see how things go.
How is communication going with your Korean botlane? We’ve heard that Way struggles with English and that Ice had to translate in-game calls. Is that still an issue?
Daglas: We still have some issues where Way doesn’t understand what’s happening if we tell him something in game, but there hasn’t been translations during games from what I recall; Ice still does translations during reviews or after games though.
What kind of mindset do you have? Do you feel like you still have something to prove?
Daglas: When I was in academy, I watched the LEC Versus and Spring Split the whole time. I personally really like how
is approaching the LEC in terms of their style. I’m the kind of guy that takes a lot of inspiration from a player like
. They work really well as a team around him. He gets a lot of attention and is performing well, obviously as a jungler, I want to be that type of guy. I’m confident, even after today. So yeah, we’ll see what future brings. And right now we just need to work hard as a squad, as a team.
As pointed out by Monsieur Yordle on X, you only have 0.0004% odds of playoff qualification left. How do you feel about that, especially with upcoming matches against Fnatic and Shifters?
Daglas: Obviously, our chances are very, very low. Even if people start counting us out, I don’t care. I came into this situation to fulfill my job in the remaining officials, and our objective is to at least make it hard for Shifters and Fnatic. I’m sure they want to make playoffs too, so beating them would already be nice—we could find some happiness in that.
Do you have a message for Heretics fans?
Daglas: We tried our best today, even though we didn’t come into our match against MKOI as favorites. We need to adapt to a mentality of wanting to win games and not lose. We will try to do better for the future of Heretics.”
