More players and a bigger stage for Vegas Open 2026
Las Vegas will be hosting Teamfight Tactics’ biggest event in 2026. After traveling to Macao and Paris, the TFT Open goes back to where it all began in 2023, but with more participants.
Set for the end of 2026, the TFT Vegas Open will once again take its place as the final stop of the TFT competitive calendar. The announcement was delivered by Michael Sherman, Global Head of Esports for TFT and 2XKO, during the 2025 Paris Open pre-event media mixer, confirming that the Open will return to North America after two international editions. The event will maintain its open-bracket format so that any member of the community can enter the Main Event and compete for the TFT Tactician’s Belt and a six-figure prize pool.
An event for the community
Alongside competition, fans can expect community-driven events and stands, such as the artist alley, onsite co-streamer watch-alongs, and meet and greets with Rioters and talents. Further details—including the venue, event size, prize pool, and the full competitive format—will be shared next year.
“Bringing the 2026 TFT Open back to Las Vegas is a full-circle moment for our sport, our community, and everyone involved in making the Open so special,” said Sherman. “[We] are committed to making the TFT Vegas Open 2026 the best Open yet. Las Vegas was a location loved by so many in our North American community, and we can’t wait to welcome them, and even more players, to the event at the end of next year.”
Looking back at the first Vegas Open
The first-ever TFT Open was held in Las Vegas in 2023 at the MGM Grand Conference Center. In three days, 512 players competed in an open-bracket tournament during Set 10, Remix Rumble, with Ryan "milala" Lai winning the Tactician’s Belt.
As the first LAN event held for the game, and the first one hosted by Riot in a long time, the event served as a major milestone for TFT’s competitive identity, establishing the open-entry, community-friendly structure that has shaped every edition since. But with the return in 2026, attention now shifts to how the event may scale compared to the original Vegas Open.
"Full-circle moment"
At the time, the MGM Grand Conference Center accommodated many fewer players—and attendees—than the ones expected for the 2025 Paris Open. Whether the event will require a larger venue or adapt the original space remains an open question until further details are announced.
Yet another point in question is whether this “full-circle moment” signifies a rotating hosting region for TFT Opens, much like it is for the League of Legends World Championship. If that were to be the case, TFT APAC fans and players could expect the 2027 edition to land close to home.
