Dignitas welcome Zven in his return to AD Carry

Dignitas have reached a verbal agreement with Botlaner Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen in the LCS, as sources informed Sheep Esports on Wednesday. This move not only signifies Zven's return to professional play and his former AD Carry role but also represents a significant acquisition for Dignitas, who are aiming to qualify for the World Championship.

The Return of Niels

Zven is no stranger to international fans. The player burst onto the scene in 2015 when he joined Origen, making it all the way to the Top 4 at the World Championship. As an AD Carry, Zven initially found great success with G2 Esports in the European LCS and later with Cloud9 in the North American LCS.

Throughout his career, Zven has qualified for a total of six different World Championships and has earned three European trophies and three North American trophies.

In mid-2022, Zven made the decision to transition to the Support role after Cloud9 signed AD Carry Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol. Despite this role change, Zven still managed to secure his last LCS trophy last year.

However, at the end of 2023, Zven announced his intention to return to his former role. While he couldn't find a team that matched his desires during the last offseason, Zven is now poised to return as an AD Carry with Dignitas.

Road to Worlds

Zven isn't the only acquisition for Dignitas. The team also signed top laner Eric "Licorice" Ritchie, as first reported by Sheep Esports. The Canadian top laner was available for pickup as well, as he found himself without a team following the pivot to an 8-team LCS last year.

With these two new players, Dignitas will be aiming for Worlds after displaying strong performances in the Spring Split. Although they finished only in fifth place, the North American team showcased strong moments during their split.

With the assistance of a new coaching staff, Dignitas is poised to begin preparations for the summer season and possibly beyond. Indeed, sources have indicated to Sheep Esports that Zven's deal with Dignitas is multi-year.

It remains to be seen how Zven performs with his new team in his former role. In the meantime, don't forget to check out our Transfers Hub for more roster swap information.
