Zeyzal reaches Verbal agreement with Shopify

Support Tristan "Zeyzal" Stidam has reached a verbal agreement with Shopify Rebellion to re-join the League Championship Series (LCS), according to sources close to Sheep Esports.

According to information provided to Sheep Esports, the American player received interest from other teams, including Cloud9 and 100 Thieves, before ultimately choosing Shopify Rebellion as his new home. Zeyzal is most known for his recent success in the North American Challengers League (NACL) under Disguised, a team associated with content creator and OfflineTV member Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang.

Familiar Faces

Zeyzal brings not only his skill but also familiarity to the Shopify Rebellion roster. Having played alongside the top laner Aaron “FakeGod” Lee and being coached by Seong "Reven" Sang-hyeon, the trio was previously part of the Cloud9 Challengers roster that secured victory in the NACL during the 2023 spring split. After their successful NACL run, Reven moved on to coach TSM, while both Fakegod and Zeyzal continued their careers together on DSG, winning the 2023 NACL summer split as well.

Together, the three veterans aim to find a resurgence in North America’s most competitive league after having proven themselves in the NACL. In the past, they were often considered “not good enough” for the LCS but “too good” for the NACL. With this move, they will now attempt to break this narrative, aiming to demonstrate once and for all that they are worthy of joining the main league.

A Long History

While he has fallen out of the limelight, Zeyzal still holds a notable place in the history of League of Legends esports. Having previously been part of Cloud9, the support player made waves between 2018 and 2019, even coming close to a championship title and attending Worlds with the organization. After his tenure with the team, Zeyzal fell in and out of the spotlight, competing in challengers leagues and amateur teams.

Now, he aims to prove himself once more in a new setting. This move will mark his first re-entry into the LCS since 2020 as a starting player. With a lot to prove, the 24-year-old support now aims to replicate the same talents which netted him back-to-back titles in the NACL.
