Gen.G cleans up the VALORANT roster
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Kim “t3xture” Na-ra and Kang “solo” Keun-chul will leave Gen.G ahead of the 2026 VALORANT VCT Pacific season. This shift would conclude a two-year spell for t3xture, who joined the club in September 2023. It would also mark the end of solo’s tenure, after he was appointed head coach in January 2024 as part of a broader structural reset that repositioned Kim “HSK” Hae-seong in a strategy role.
Those moves are reflected in public records and align with the timeline of Gen.G’s subsequent Pacific and international campaigns. The staff picture may evolve further. Sources also told Sheep Esports that Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, Kim “Lakia” Jong-min, and HSK are also likely to exit — still without 100% confirmation at this time.
A new diamond on the market
t3xture has served as a mainstay of Gen.G lineup since his arrival, following stints with Global Esports and DAMWON Gaming, and his tenure coincided with Gen.G’s emergence as a consistent international contender. solo, a veteran of Korean Counter-Strike and former head coach at Dplus/DAMWON, therefore took charge in early 2024 and guided the team through the ensuing season’s domestic and international fixtures. In 2024, Gen.G won the VCT Pacific Kickoff and Stage 2, but also the Masters Shanghai.

The departures of the Gen.G star player and the head coach would signal a substantive reset for Gen.G 2026 project after an inconclusive 2025 and failure to qualify for the Champions Paris. Overhauls at the top of the roster and staff typically cascade into role adjustments, trial periods, and renewed scouting, all under the constraints of a compressed VCT offseason calendar.
Conversely, should only part of the rumored changes materialize, Gen.G could pursue a lighter retool centered on retained core pieces and a revised technical direction.
