Leviatán adds new firepower
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Rodrigo "spikeziN" Lombardi has reached a verbal agreement with Leviatán for the 2026 VCT Americas season. After making his debut on the international stage during Stage 2 with 2GAME Esports, the young Duelist left a strong impression, convincing the South American organization to offer him a two-year deal.
Joining the Americas League at the very last moment in an attempt to salvage 2GAME’s difficult season, the Brazilian talent was ultimately unable to turn things around for the team. The organization, which had earned promotion through Ascension for 2025, failed to maintain its spot at the highest level of VALORANT. With a 9th-12th place finish at Kickoff, followed by two 9th-10th place runs in both regular Stages, 2GAME was forced to drop back down to Challengers. These results reflect a broader trend within Brazilian rosters, which largely struggled in 2025 aside from MiBR’s narrow qualification for Champions.
New strategy for Leviatán
On Leviatán’s side, the year was far from a success either. After a third-place finish at Champions Seoul in 2024, the team failed to make a single international LAN appearance in 2025. Despite assembling a high-profile North American lineup, Leviatán never managed to find consistency, and now appears to be pivoting for 2026 with a stronger focus on South American talent.
Supporting that shift, the club announced on Thursday, September 4, that Ian "tex" Botsch, Corbin "C0M" Lee, and Anthony "okeanos" Nguyen have been moved to the bench. Meanwhile, Francisco "kiNgg" Aravena and Eduardo "Sato" Nagahama remain part of the active roster. Per sources, Leviatán are trying to build a Spanish-Portuguese speaking team.
