KRÜ close to finalizing 2026 roster
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Caio "silentzz" Morita and Leonardo "mwzera" Serrati have reached a verbal agreement with KRÜ Esports for the 2026 VCT Americas season. With these two additions, the South American organization has nearly completed its roster for the upcoming competitive year, following the verbal agreements of Matias "Saadhak" Delipetro and Felipe "Less" Basso, which were previously reported by Sheep Esports. Sources also say that FURIA and KRÜ have reached an agreement for mwzera’s transfer, while silentzz was being considered by LOUD early in the offseason. THESPIKE was the first to report on the agreement between silentzz and KRÜ.
The club owned by Sergio Agüero endured a difficult 2025 season, missing out on VALORANT Champions Paris, a first in the organization’s history, as KRÜ had qualified for every edition since the game’s competitive debut. Despite a solid start with a Top 4 finish at the Kickoff, the Chilean roster struggled to maintain consistency. A 5th–6th place in Stage 1 and a failed attempt to qualify for the Esports World Cup left KRÜ under pressure heading into the final split of the year. Ultimately, the team fell short again, finishing 7th–8th in Stage 2 and missing another shot at the World Championship.
A spirit of revenge
For the 2026 season, KRÜ Esports is looking to rebuild around experience and resilience. The arrival of two 2022 world champions signals the organization’s intent to bounce back, while also betting on players with something to prove. That’s particularly true for silentzz, who experienced a rough year in VCT Americas with 2GAME, a team that earned promotion through Ascension. Joining the Brazilian roster at the start of 2024, he helped the squad make waves in Challengers Brazil, where they fell short of the title but pulled off an upset in the Ascension tournament by defeating teams such as M80. However, once in the top league, 2GAME struggled to adapt, finishing near the bottom of the table with a 9th–12th place at the Kickoff and back-to-back 9th–10th finishes in both 2025 stages. Those results led to their relegation back to Challengers, without a chance to defend their slot through Ascension.
For mwzera, the story took a different turn, though his return to the VCT stage is equally meaningful. A familiar face at the top level in 2021, 2022, and 2023 with Keyd Stars and later FURIA, the Brazilian player spent most of 2024 off the main circuit before being benched by FURIA after the Americas Kickoff. He then joined LOS (Los Grandes) in Challengers Brazil, as a loan, where the campaign proved underwhelming. Despite a decent showing, LOS finished 5th–6th in Split 2 and narrowly missed qualification for Ascension after falling short in the Last Chance Qualifier.
