Back to Americas for Saadhak
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Matias "Saadhak" Delipetro and KRÜ Esports have reached a verbal agreement for the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour Americas season. The move may come as a surprise after the Argentine player’s year in Europe with Karmine Corp, but the player had already expressed his desire to return to the Americas in recent weeks. A world champion in 2022 with LOUD, Saadhak will therefore rejoin a league he knows well after a challenging year in VCT EMEA.
A tough year
Having joined KCorp’s project in November 2024 as the team leader, success proved elusive for the Blue Wall's roster. Their campaign began with a Top 9–12 finish at the EMEA Kickoff, falling to Team Vitality and then GIANTX. Saadhak and his teammates managed to steady the ship somewhat during Stage 1, where Karmine Corp finished Top 7–8. The team then narrowly qualified for the Esports World Cup through the last-chance tournament, defeating Team Liquid in a decisive series.
That international appearance ended with a Top 5–8 finish and a quarterfinal exit at the hands of Fnatic. Returning to Berlin for the final split of the season, the squad failed to secure a spot at Champions Paris, which was set to take place in their home arena in Évry. Another Top 7–8 finish brought KCorp’s 2025 season to a close and marked the end of Saadhak’s European chapter. The Argentine captain now looks set to make his comeback to the Americas for 2026.
Back in business
Along with returning to Riot’s Los Angeles studio, Saadhak is also expected to link up with a South American team once again. KRÜ Esports, founded by former football star Sergio Agüero, has been competing at the highest level of VALORANT since the game’s release. The project has faced its share of struggles this season, prompting roster changes after inconsistent results. A Top 4 finish at Kickoff was KRÜ’s only highlight of 2025, followed by a Top 5–6 run in Stage 1 and a disappointing Top 7–8 placement in Stage 2.
The South American organization has already parted ways with Marco "Melser" Machuca, a long-standing member of the roster who had been with KRÜ since late 2022. Melser was moved to the bench at the beginning of September, though a part of the rest of the roster and coaching staff have remained intact, according to official announcements. On September 20, Fabian “Shyy” Usnayo announced on X that he was looking for new opportunities while waiting to see if his discussions with KRU would come to fruition, as his contract expires before the return to competition in 2026.
