Bilibili Gaming are looking for their new head coach for the VCT Champions Tour China 2026 season. After Lee "bail" Sung-jae's contract expired, the team is trying to replace him with a luxury choice: Tang "Muggle" Shijun, former world champion with Edward Gaming, is the main priority of the latest VCT China Stage 2 champion, sources tell Sheep Esports.

It would only be the second team known by Muggle since the beginning of his coaching career on VALORANT. Present in the coaching staff of EDward Gaming for four seasons, he would take the lead of a new top team in the region that has not yet managed to make a name for itself internationally.

A coach made for international?

Muggle joined EDG at the beginning of 2022 and stayed from the early days of the VCT's arrival until making it one of the best teams in the world. He forms a coaching duo with Lo "AfteR" Wen-hsin. Together, they have already managed to make EDG one of the best teams in China. In 2024, EDG reached their best level in the game and won all three regional VCT China tournaments. After the Masters Shanghai, AfteR leaves and Muggle becomes the Head Coach of the team. He then leads the organization to the very top of VALORANT by winning the 2024 Champions.

The following year has been a bit more complicated. Although EDG won the Kickoff at the beginning of the year, the team's performance declined as the season progressed, and the team has not won more trophies. It ends the season on a disappointing note with a winless elimination at Champions.

BLG, on the other hand, took the opposite trajectory by gradually establishing themselves as one of the best teams in the region. Third at the Kickoff and then second at Stage 1, the team won its first trophy in the VCT. However, the team failed to deliver internationally. Out in the Swiss Stage at the Masters Toronto and then without a win at Champions, BLG is looking to take the next step. After Bail's departure towards JDG, Muggle's arrival could very well be the one that helps BLG take this next step.
