margaret is going to Japan
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Kim "margaret" Ji-woo has signed with Japanese organization QT DIG∞ ahead of the upcoming offseason tournaments, before the return of official competitions. The South Korean player, who competed this year with Nongshim RedForce in the VCT Pacific, will continue his career in Challengers Japan with a club looking to bounce back after a difficult season.
margaret first played with Nongshim when the organization was still competing in Korea’s domestic league, before joining Sin Prinsa Gaming in 2024. With Sin Prinsa, he won the Pacific Ascension and earned promotion to the top tier of VALORANT. Nongshim finally acquired the organization and the players for their VCT Pacific campaign, which marked margaret’s return to the club where his career began.
A major recruitment
This season proved challenging for both margaret and his teammates. After finishing Top 5–6 at Kickoff and Top 7–8 in Stage 1, Nongshim benched him following their failure to qualify for the Esports World Cup. He officially parted ways with the roster on September 4, after spending several months inactive, while Nongshim now faces the threat of relegation and must fight for survival at the Pacific Ascension in October.
For now, he will be competing with QT DIG∞, formerly known as Sengoku Gaming, a well-established Japanese organization that has been present in VALORANT since the very beginning. After consistently finishing in the Top 3 of their league in 2024, QT struggled this year, already parting ways with two players before bringing in margaret, a proven talent coming down from the VCT. According to our information, Park "Impact" Sung-hyun, a former Sengoku player who most recently competed in Challengers Korea, is also currently trialing with the team.
