Two world champions reunited
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Felipe "Less" Basso has reached a verbal agreement to join KRÜ Esports in 2026. After spending a year in Europe with Team Vitality, the Brazilian player is expected to return to the VCT Americas for the upcoming competitive season, where he would also reunite with Matias "Saadhak" Delipetro, with whom he won the World Championship with LOUD back in 2022. The verbal agreement between Saadhak and the South American organization was already reported a few weeks ago by Sheep Esports.
The club appears to be betting on the arrival of big regional names for 2026, following several seasons with its Chilean core, the roster with which KRÜ experienced its best moments. Indeed, Sergio Agüero’s organization decided to bench Marco "Melser" Machuca, Angelo "keznit" Mori, and Fabian "Shyy" Usnayo, as well as its entire coaching staff, ahead of the offseason. The only miremaining players are Jesús "Dantedeu5" Larrosa, who joined in June and is under contract until the end of 2028, and Roberto "Mazino" Rivas, whose deal is set to expire in late 2026, although both players’ futures remain uncertain.
A mixed year
These changes come after KRÜ missed the VALORANT Champions for the first time in its history and delivered a mixed year overall. Despite a promising Top 4 finish at the Kickoff event, KRÜ gradually slipped down the standings as the season went on, ending Stage 1 in the Top 5–6 range before closing Stage 2 with a disappointing Top 7–8. The South American organization is therefore looking to break this downward spiral by bringing in new faces, and some very familiar ones to fans of the scene.
After two years with LOUD, Less joined Team Vitality at the end of 2024, marking both a regional switch and his arrival in the VCT EMEA. His journey with the French organization started strong, as Vitality captured the Kickoff title and secured qualification for Masters Bangkok. The team finished the event in 4th place, falling to T1, which also marked the end of Vitality’s early-season momentum. With back-to-back Top 7–8 finishes in both Stage 1 and Stage 2, Less and his European teammates ultimately failed to qualify for Champions Paris 2025, leading to roster changes within Vitality ahead of the 2026 season — and the conclusion of Less’s chapter with the team.
