jowa will join Wolves in VCT China from the North American Challengers League
After a rollercoaster year in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) China, Wolves Esports are beginning to reshape their roster ahead of the 2026 season. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Chinese player Jordan “jowa” is set to join the pack as their first signing of the offseason.
Earlier in the transfer window, Wolves allowed Liang “Lysoar” Youhao to explore his options. Similarly, Huang “Yuicaw” Yung-chieh and Tyler “juicy” Aeria have both been moved to the organization’s inactive roster. As it stands, Pong “SiuFatBB” Ka-hei, the team’s in-game leader, and Liu “Spring” Chun-ting appear to be the only returning members from the 2025 roster.
From North America to China
Jowa’s arrival marks Wolves’ first major move of the offseason. The Chinese flex player will make the leap to the top tier of competition in China, coming over from the North American Challengers League, where he spent most of the 2025 season competing with SaD Esports.
Despite a turbulent year, SaD Esports managed to retain their Challengers slot after surviving back-to-back relegation battles. The team finished 14th–15th in Stage 2 and 12th–13th in Stage 3, narrowly avoiding demotion on both occasions. On paper, it was a difficult season for both SaD and Jowa in VCL NA.
Here are Jowa’s combined averages from Stage 1 and Stage 2 in the 2025 season:
- Average Combat Score (ACS): 195.9
- Kill/Death Ratio (K/D): 0.97
- Kill, Assist, Survive, Trade % (KAST): 73.5%
- Average Damage per Round (ADR): 125.7
- Kills per Round (KPR): 0.69
Chasing the highs of 2025
Wolves’ 2025 campaign was a story of high peaks and deep lows. The team began the year with a 9th–12th place finish at Kickoff, before shocking the entire region with a 3rd place finish in Stage 1, which secured them a spot at Masters Toronto.
Once in Canada, Wolves went on an impressive international run, becoming one of the tournament’s biggest surprises both competitively and in fan popularity. They took down heavyweights such as Team Heretics, Bilibili Gaming, Rex Regum Qeon, and Gen.G, ultimately finishing third overall — the highest-ever placement for the organization on an international stage.
However, their return to domestic competition in VCT China didn’t go as planned. Wolves’ form dropped dramatically in Stage 2, where they finished 11th–12th, crushing their hopes of qualifying for Champions 2025. The result left many wondering which version of Wolves truly represented their level — the underperforming regional squad or the fearless international contender that shined in Toronto.
Rebuilding the pack for 2026
Heading into 2026, Wolves are looking to recapture the spark that defined their international breakout earlier in the year. Several roster changes are expected, with Jowa being the first confirmed piece of this new lineup.
Whether the Chinese flex can adapt quickly to the higher pace and structure of the VCT, following his stint in VCL North America, remains to be seen.
