Set to replace Jieni7
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Zhang “hfmi0dzjc9z7” Juncheng is set to join EDward Gaming following his departure from TYLOO earlier this Monday. The 23-year-old was recently seen scrimming with EDG and is expected to be part of their starting lineup for VCT China Stage 2. While EDG have yet to officially announce the move, internal sources suggest the deal is complete.
hfmi0dzjc9z7 is best known for his time with Attacking Soul Esports, where he helped the team qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo 2023. His consistent performances on Initiator and Sentinel roles earned him praise during ASE’s international debut. After joining TYLOO at the start of 2024, the team failed to find strong results in Stage 1.
Rebuilding momentum
Despite that, hfmi0dzjc9z7 remained a standout performer, prompting EDG to move in as they look to rebuild momentum going into the second split. With his addition, Zhang “Jieni7” Juntai, who was promoted to replace Hsien "S1Mon" Meng-Hsun last March, is expected to return to EDG Youth.
EDward Gaming began the year strong, qualifying for Masters Bangkok with S1Mon as part of the lineup. However, following S1Mon’s benching ahead of Stage 1, the team’s form declined. They failed to qualify for Masters Toronto, and their performances in Stage 1 were marked by inconsistency and roster instability, leading team to internal adjustments before Stage 2.
