FULL SENSE succeeds TALON
The replacement for TALON in VCT Pacific has now been identified. The Thai organization FULL SENSE is expected to join the VCT next year, sources tell Sheep Esports. Although several clubs submitted bids, Riot Games ultimately selected FULL SENSE to assume the vacant slot.
Following the financial difficulties that led to TALON’s removal from VCT Pacific, Riot Games had been actively searching for a replacement ahead of the upcoming season. One Thai team will therefore succeed another, with FULL SENSE set to enter the league as a guest participant, and will keep the roster of TALON, with one promotion from its actual lineup.
An ideal replacement?
A few weeks ago, Sheep Esports reported that TALON would not compete in the upcoming VCT circuit due to severe financial issues. These challenges cost the organization not only its VCT spot but also its position in the League of Legends LCP. To fill the vacant slot, Riot Games opted to maintain a Thai representative within the league—even though BOOM Esports were also considered for the slot after the team spent last year in VCT and did not requalify through Ascension with a final loss against SLT.
Initially, the players and staff of TALON conducted their own search to find a structure that would agree to take them on for the next year. They notably contacted FlyQuest, Aurora, Team Spirit, and also S8UL, thinking that Riot Games would be more inclined to accept an Asian team, but they refused their request and chose their own selection process.
An administrative promotion
FULL SENSE have been active in VALORANT since late 2020 and competed last season in VALORANT Challengers Southeast Asia. The team achieved consistent results, winning its region’s first split and placing within the top three in the remaining two splits, which secured its second consecutive appearance at Ascension Pacific. After finishing third last year, the team entered this year’s event as the second seed among the four teams from its region, but failed to advance beyond the group stage. Nevertheless, due to this unexpected turn of events, FULL SENSE have now been granted a place in next season’s VCT as a guest participant.
The organization, owned by Intouchaya Chinpinkyo, appears to have convinced Riot—particularly regarding the financial guarantees necessary to sustain the club throughout the competitive season. She is the daughter of Worawat Chinpinkyo, CEO of Thai Coconut PCL, a company specializing in coconut exports, which, according to information obtained by Sheep Esports, seems to be a significant backer of the club.
Crws retained as head coach, Leviathan promoted
As for the lineup FULL SENSE will field, the presence of all TALON players within the roster is not yet confirmed. However, a change will be made for sure, as former player and In-Game Leader for the team, Thanamethk "Crws" Mahatthananuyut will become the new head coach of the team.
FULL SENSE are not expected to overlook their own talent either, as Thanyathon "Leviathan" Nakmee is set to move up with the organization. He competed with FULL SENSE the last two years and is expected to follow the team into the VCT. The Thai player mainly operates on Controllers or Sentinels, switching between the two as needed.
