Boaster is returning for a sixth season with Fnatic
According to Sheep Esports sources, Jake "Boaster" Howlett will resign with Fnatic for an additional year. After coming very close to winning his first VALORANT Champions a few days ago, Fnatic's most iconic player will return next year with the goal of finishing the job.
This will be Boaster's sixth year competing with the British team since the player joined the organization in 2021. While his contract with the Black and Orange was expiring at the end of the season, Fnatic decided to renew their trust in their IGL for an additional year.
A season close from the ultimate goal
Fnatic and Boaster's season has not been the most successful in terms of titles and results. As the team welcomed Kajetan "kaajak" Haremski and Austin "crashies" Roberts into their roster at the beginning of the season, they started with a rather disappointing result at the kickoff that will see them miss out on Masters Bangkok. Fnatic found their true form a few months later and won VCT EMEA Stage 1, the organization's third title since the league launched with partner teams. At the Masters Toronto, Fnatic climbed all the way up the lower bracket to the final where the team lost to Paper Rex.
After a lackluster performance with little impact in stage 2, Fnatic arrives at the VALORANT Champions more motivated than ever. With much more dominant performances, Fnatic reaches the final of the event against NRG. In an epic final where the European team came back from very far behind, Boaster and his teammates ended up losing despite achieving their best result in the competition since its inception.
Fnatic keeps the same identity
Throughout this season, Boaster has distinguished himself both in and out of the game with his ability to make his voice heard and put on a show. In-game, even tho he rarely shines on the scoreboard, he has perfectly fulfilled his role as IGL. Outside, he never fails to get up from his seat and rally the crowd with his traditional dances or bursts of joy.
With this contract renewal, Boaster joins kaajak and Emir "Alfajer" Beder, both already under contract until 2026. Present since the team's beginnings on VALORANT, we will have to wait another year to see Fnatic change its face and voice for the years to come.
