A new page for FPX
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, FunPlus Phoenix are expected to make change to their line-up. The Australian player Kale “Autumn” Dunne is indeed set to be removed from the active VALORANT roster. Per sources, Autumn is now open to play in all regions. He joined FPX during the organization's VCT China era, becoming a dependable plug-and-play player who could switch between Duelist and Sentinel duties, as well as anchor sites when needed.
He has been credited by staff and teammates alike with calm mid-round communication and solid fundamentals, attributes that have helped to steady FPX through meta shifts and a competitive domestic field. While FPX’s international results have been mixed, Autumn’s versatility has made him a consistent selection during the 2024–25 campaigns.
What does this mean for FPX?
FPX's performance in the 2025 VCT CN tournament was mixed. They placed 5–6th in the Kickoff Tournament, finished 9–10th in Stage 1, and reached the Playoffs in Stage 2. However, they were defeated in Lower Round 1 by All Gamers. They finished the season with five championship points, reflecting a mid-table domestic campaign.
With Autumn's departure, a role will be left in FPX's day-to-day operations. The organization’s next move will indicate its competitive strategy for the upcoming split, whether it will focus on a slower, structure-first approach or adopt a faster-paced strategy in line with recent international trends. Options on the table now include promoting domestic talent from within China’s pipeline, recruiting an experienced international player, or redistributing calling and utility responsibilities among the remaining starters.
