Absol is set to discover the Tier 1 competition for the first time
After another challenging year in the VALORANT Champions Tour Pacific, ZETA DIVISION are wasting no time in rebuilding their roster ahead of the 2026 season. As previously reported by Sheep Esports, the Japanese organization has already reached an agreement with Yeom “eKo” Wang-ryong. Now, according to sources close to Sheep Esports, ZETA have a verbal agreement with Kazuki “Absol” Fujinoki, who is set to become the team’s second Duelist.
Absol has actually already played two matches with his new team during an offseason tournament, the Red Bull Home Ground. He will therefore remain with his new club for the 2026 season of the continental elite. ZETA are acting quickly on restructuring a roster capable of performing better than in the past two years. The team has already locked its Duelist duo, with eKo bringing a little more experience and Absol being a complete rookie talent who will discover the Tier 1 next season.
A Harbinger of Hope Rather Than Disaster?
Absol will make his Tier 1 debut next year, joining the VCT Pacific League after competing with Murash Gaming since 2023. Despite showing individual brilliance, Absol was unable to capture a title during his time in the Challengers Japan circuit.
Murash Gaming’s 2025 season was a mixed bag. The team qualified for Stage 1 after finishing 4th–6th in the open qualifier but struggled to maintain consistency, ultimately placing 7th–8th in the main event. They bounced back during Stage 2, winning the qualifier to secure their spot in the league and later finishing 5th–6th, showing notable improvement and progress. Despite this results, the Japanese Dueliste stood out with strong mechanical performances and consistency as shown by his Stage 2 statistics:
- Average Combat Score (ACS): 245.3 (#3)
- K:D Ratio: 1.23 (Tied #4)
- Average Damage per Round: 158.8 (#5)
- Kills per Round: 0.87 (Tied #3)
- First Kills per Round: 0.22 (#3)
- Max Kills in a Map: 29 (Tied #3)
- Total Kills: 493 (#3)
Despite Murash’s failure to qualify for the final stage of the year (finishing 4th in the qualifier), ZETA DIVISION decided to go for Absol’s raw potential and individual consistency. The organization is betting on his development to help elevate their level after a disappointing 2025 season — which saw them finish 9–12th at Kickoff, and 9–10th in both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
ZETA DIVISION 2026 Roster:
- Yeom “eKo” Wang-ryong
- Kazuki “Absol” Fujinoki
- Shota "SugarZ3ro" Watanabe
- Hibiki "XQQ" Motoyama (HC)
