A True LCK Veteran
Umti, an LCK veteran, boasts a solid history in the League of Legends esport scene. Recently, he competed with OKSavingsBank BRION (OKBRO) in South Korea, with whom he faced challenges. First joining the team in spring of 2021, he has played under BRION's banner ever since. During his tenure with the team, the jungler unfortunately found himself making the playoffs phase only once in spring of 2022.
Marking UmTi's first debut abroad, this move will prove to be a new challenge for the LCK veteran as he hopes to find success outside of his home region. Joining Team Liquid, the cultural shift may not be as significant as it would be with another team. Experimenting with a fully Korean-style roster in 2023, the team might prove to be the perfect home for the jungler. Known to be proficient in English, UmTi is expected to fit well in a new environment and should be supported by his new team.
Despite recent struggles, UmTi is still regarded as a player of great skills. While he may not have found good results in his home region, the player is expected to be a strong addition to the LCS team's roster. Time will tell if the South Korean jungler's import proves to be a beneficial choice for the team or not.
Team Liquid is coming off a successful year, reaching Worlds 2023. Although they were eliminated in the Swiss bracket against GAM Esports, they still achieved a top 3 finish in the LCS and notably put up an impressive performance against the world champions, T1. The addition of UmTi adds another layer of anticipation for Team Liquid’s upcoming LCS Season.
