Toffe was the Benelux champion in Summer 2024
A new member of TLN Pirates' boat has arrived. Tautvydas “Toffe” Gegeckas is set to join the new entrant in the Ligue Française de League of Legends Division 2, sources tell Sheep Esports on Wednesday. The Lithuanian midlaner, who G2 Academy has also considered this offseason, went through a difficult year with BDS Academy in the LFL and will now have to work his way through the lower division to prove he belongs at the top level of French competition, unless the team secures a spot in the French elite at the end of the LFL Invitational.
As a reminder, TLN Group, a Toulon-based company founded in 2023, is set to join LFL Division 2. Named TLN Pirates, the organization is part of a larger project in downtown Toulon centered around a gaming bar and professional player facilities, spanning nearly 400 square meters across three floors.
High Ambitions
For the TLN Pirates project, the head of the esports business side outlined ambitious plans in an interview with Le Var Information — beginning modestly in Division 2 but aiming to “make it to the LFL.” In the same interview, Alex Péron went even further, hinting that “reaching the LEC, Europe’s top league,” could be their ultimate goal.
On his side, Toffe is now set to begin his second year in France. He started his career in the GLL, then in 2024 played for mCon esports during the Summer Split of the Elite Series — a run they won, earning him his first and so far only appearance at the EMEA Masters.
His 2025 season with BDS Academy was far tougher: a last-place finish at the LFL Flash In with a 0–4 record, a tenth-place Spring Split at 1–8, and ninth in Summer at 3-6. In the promotion tournament to retain their spot in the LFL, they fell to Esprit Shonen.
