Parus is not 100% out of BDS
Support Polat "Parus" Furkan Çiçek has been permitted to explore his options by Team BDS, sources tell Sheep Esports. With the Swiss organization considering roster changes—particularly in the bot lane—they could not guarantee the Turkish support a place on their 2026 roster.
Parus’ contract expires in November, and while BDS has left the door open to a possible re-signing, the player has already begun talks with other LEC teams, signaling a strong possibility of him remaining in the league next year.
An underwhelming LEC debut
Parus has just completed a rookie year rather below expectations. This comes after his stellar 2024 with BDS Academy, where he won both the LFL and the EMEA Masters, attracting interest from several top LEC organizations, including G2 Esports, before ultimately being promoted to BDS’s LEC roster.
At just 22 years old, Parus could still hold strong value in the upcoming offseason. Despite a mixed year with BDS in the LEC, his 2024 run in the ERLs remains memorable, and he is expected to draw interest from teams looking to make a change at support. Having started his career in the Turkish academy circuit, he went on to compete in the TCL with İstanbul Wildcats, where he won two domestic titles as well as the EMEA Masters in Spring 2023, before repeating the feat the following year with BDS Academy in Summer.
Rebuilding after a difficult year
BDS’s year has been anything but easy. The team started with a sixth-place finish in the Winter Split, showing little in terms of real potential. Things only got worse in Spring, as they failed to even reach the playoffs. For Summer, the organization benched Joel "Irrelevant" Miro Scharoll and parted ways with Doğukan "113" Balcı, bringing in rookie toplaner Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan from Hanwha Life Esports Challengers and SK Gaming’s Mehdi "Boukada" Lahlou, acquired for nearly €200,000. The changes didn’t pay off, as BDS ended the split in eighth place, suffering a clean sweep against GIANTX.
How Team BDS will rebuild for 2026 remains undetermined, though sources told Sheep Esports that most of the topside is expected to stay on the roster.
