For
, the long-awaited roster change is finally set to take place. After deciding at the end of the
2026 LEC Spring Split to bench toplaner
, the organization has now found his replacement. In search of a suitable successor, the European side turned to the Asian talent pool and has identified
as their new toplaner, sources tell
Sheep Esports. Still per sources, Fnatic extensively explored the market across the LCK, LCK CL, China, and Europe. The Black and Orange also considered T1 Academy's Seong "Guardian" Tae-hyo before ultimately deciding to sign Soboro.
Recently released by
, where he won the
2026 Demacia Cup before competing in the
LPL Split 1, , Soboro will experience the LEC for the first time in his career. He will notably reunite with
, alongside whom he briefly played at
Gen.G Academy during the early stages of his career in 2021.
A more fitting profile?
Although he has accumulated relatively little Tier 1 experience, Soboro's professional career began several years ago. The toplaner has spent time within multiple LCK organizations, including HANJJIN BRION and BNK FEARX, though his appearances in Korea’s premier league remained limited. The majority of his career has been spent in the LCK Challengers League, where he notably won the championship last year with FEARX Youth.
Earlier this year, Soboro joined Invictus Gaming, but his performances ultimately fell short of the organization's expectations, leading to his benching after the first split. He was recently released by the Chinese organization ahead of the announcement of Kang “
” Seung-lok’s return to the starting roster. For those who may have forgotten, this will not be Soboro’s first experience in Europe either, having previously played for
Galakticos in the
TCL during the 2023 season.
With this acquisition, Fnatic hopes to have secured a more versatile profile than Empyros. Since the start of the year, the team frequently relegated their Greek toplaner to weakside duties and often struggled to capitalize on his strengths. Historically, Soboro has established himself as a carry-oriented toplaner. Among the most-played champions of his career are Gwen and Jax, alongside staples such as K’Sante, Renekton, and Rumble. The responsibility now lies with Fnatic to fully unlock and maximize his potential.
