NRG will have to do changes
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Sam “s0m” Oh will not be part of NRG’s roster for the VALORANT VCT Americas 2026 season, despite the team won the 2025 Champions.
A longtime NRG cornerstone, s0m helped deliver the club’s first VALORANT world title in Paris, where NRG defeated Fnatic 3–2 in the Grand Final on October 5. His tenure with the organization dates back to 2020, and his recent stint followed a brief move into content creation in late 2023 before returning to the active roster in 2024.
A page-turner and a happy ending
The 2025 season marked a steady climb for NRG, who navigated a mixed start in regional play before surging through Champions, sweeping Fnatic in the upper final and holding off a reverse sweep in the best-of-five Grand Final. s0m featured throughout the campaign alongside Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and the team’s rebuilt core, providing stability in mid-rounds and anchoring sites on traditional Controller picks.

s0m’s exit would represent a significant change to NRG’s champions core. Replacing a veteran Controller with deep system familiarity typically triggers broader adjustments to roles and map pools, and may prompt targeted scouting for a like-for-like specialist or a shift toward more flexible compositions.
For s0m, this would open multiple pathways across partnered leagues given his champions pedigree and proven adaptability on utility-heavy agents.
