Rooster will replace Irrelevant starting in the Summer Split

Team BDS has made its first roster addition of the offseason. While exploring its options in the toplane — as reported previously — the Swiss organization is set to welcome a new Korean import. Per sources, Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan has reached a verbal agreement with Team BDS to join the LEC. Still, according to our info, the organization also tried out Kim "Chasy" Dong-hyeon, and considered Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi, Volodymyr "Maynter" Sorokin, and even the possibility of retaining Joel "Irrelevant" Miro Scharoll.

At 20 years old, the young toplaner from LCK CL will be making his first appearance in a major league. He will therefore replace Irrelevant, who is currently without a team. Rooster becomes the first new player to wear the white and pink jersey for the Summer Split, as BDS is still in the process of finding a new jungler following the departure of Doğukan "113" Balcı, who decided to step back from the team. The organization is currently holding tryouts for the jungle position, and the identity of their future jungler remains unknown.

A new rookie from South Korea

Rooster makes his debut in the League of Legends Tier 1 following a steady rise through the ranks of Hanwha Life Esports in Korea. He began his professional journey in 2021 under the nickname SuTak, playing as a midlaner for HLE Academy. In the spring of 2022, he was promoted to HLE Challengers and transitioned to the toplane, adopting the name Rooster — a role swap that showcased his deep game sense and rare versatility.

Throughout more than 160 official matches in the LCK CL, he built a reputation as a calm, calculated player with strong teamfighting instincts and reliable weak-side play. His most notable appearance came during the 2024 KeSPA Cup, where he played alongside main roster stars Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo, Park "Viper" Do-hyeon, and Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong.

His arrival at Team BDS marks the beginning of a new chapter: a young Korean talent shaped in the rigorous environment of Korean academies stepping into the European spotlight for the first time. His signing aims to shift the dynamic of a roster in rebuilding mode—one that, despite high individual talent on paper, finished 8th in Spring, the organization's worst result since Summer 2022.
