The last time Reignover served as a head coach was during Summer 2023 with Team Liquid
Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin is set to join LYON in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), sources tell Sheep Esports on Sunday. The South Korean coach therefore leaves Team Liquid after three years with the organization, during which he served both as assistant and head coach.
Reignover will therefore take charge of the LYON project as the team rebuilds its roster. As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Kacper “Inspired” Słoma will be the team’s jungler, while Kang “Saint” Sung-in has been retained in the midlane. The Mexican organization has invested heavily to match its ambitions for 2026 and is expected to be highly competitive in the LCS.
A New Challenge for Reignover
Reignover is leaving Team Liquid after three years with the organization, which he joined at the start of 2023. During his tenure, he took part in two World Championships, one Mid-Season Invitational, and one First Stand.
The team also won two splits: the 2024 LCS Summer Split and 2025 LTA Split 1. In Summer 2023 and at Worlds that same year, Reignover even served as the team’s head coach following the departure of Jang "MaRin" Gyeong-hwan.
Before that, Reignover coached at Cloud9 right after the end of his professional playing career as a jungler. He won NA Academy twice before moving up to the main roster, which he led alongside Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez, winning an LCS split and qualifying for Worlds.
The 2025 season was not an easy one for him or for Team Liquid. Despite winning Split 1, the First Stand was a complete failure for the team, which finished in last place. Split 2 was also a disappointment, ending in fourth after a surprising loss to Shopify Rebellion. Split 3 proved even more difficult, as the team didn’t qualify for the LTA Championship.
