At least three teams have already placed bids for Quid, and more may follow
Just yesterday, 21-year-old midlaner Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung played his final game for 100 Thieves. While the defeat against T1 sends him back home, teams’ interest in the player has been ongoing for weeks. With no contract currently tying him to any team, Quid is set to become a free agent, making him an even more attractive option than LEC’s own domino, Vladimiros “Vladi” Kourtidis.
Quid has been on the shortlist of several teams across both the LEC and LCS. Organizations such as Team Heretics and Natus Vincere have inquired about him. However, three teams stand out as the most likely candidates: Shopify Rebellion, Karmine Corp, and Team Liquid, all of whom are aiming to build highly competitive rosters in their respective leagues. These three are also expected to see increased — albeit measured — spending this offseason, regardless of whether they secure Quid.
Which team should Quid join?
Who is Quid?
Coming from Gen.G Global Academy, Quid made his Tier 1 debut with 100 Thieves in May 2023. Although his early splits were at times inconsistent, he quickly grew into one of North America’s most promising mid laners. During the LCS Split 3, Quid was named Best Mid Laner in the region — notably, the only non-FlyQuest player featured in the All-Pro Team.
Last year, 100 Thieves attempted to acquire Joseph Joon "Jojopyun" Pyun, a move that would have seen Quid shift to the AD Carry position in order to retain his talent within the team. When the deal fell through and Jojopyun joined Movistar KOI in the LEC, 100 Thieves kept Quid in the midlane for 2025.
A first domino
It remains to be seen where Quid will land, but the story may not end here. Sentinels, a top-tier VALORANT organization, recently entered the LCS. While they have not yet inquired about any players, it would be unsurprising if they considered Quid as they take over 100 Thieves’ slot. It’s a question worth keeping an eye on — especially as Sentinels are expected to sign someone familiar with Quid.
In the meantime, Shopify Rebellion, Team Liquid, and Karmine Corp remain the top candidates. Sheep Esports will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates should a decision materialize. Regardless of the outcome, all three teams are also exploring other mid lane imports in case they fail to secure Quid.
Update: In a new Sheep Esports interview, Quid revealed: "I don’t mind where I go, but I haven’t won a title yet. I want to join a team that can win championships."
