According to Sheep Esports sources, Russian Duelist
Semyon "purp0" Borchev has reached an agreement with
GIANTX to join the team's
VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) roster, replacing
Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas. With this move,
Adolfo "Fit1nho" Gallego will step down from the role of duelist, while remaining on the roster under a new role.
Previously, the Russian player competed
under the banner of KPI Gaming, the current best team in the
Spanish VALORANT Challengers League (VCL). Per sources, the two organizations have now found an agreement to facilitate purp0's transfer, though it is currently unknown who will replace him on the VCL team's roster. Along with this move, GIANTX's previous duelist,
Fit1nho, will now take on a different role on the roster, while remaining a part of the team, as purp0 is set to take it over.
Most affected by this decision will be
nukkye, who will be mutually parting ways with his organization. Previously, the Lithuanian player
joined Giants at the end of 2022, competing more than a full year with the organization and attending the VALORANT Champions 2023. Before his time with GX, he was best known for his time in Team Heretics, G2 Esports, and for his previous career as a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player with HellRaisers, a Ukrainian organization.
