Potent, twice LFL Div2 champion, led Esprit Shonen to promotion in LFL
French toplaner Mehdi "Potent" Bouchaffra is set to join Vitality.Bee in LFL ahead of the 2026 LFL season, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. He received interest from several LFL organizations, including Ici Japon Corp, Joblife, and BK ROG Esports. Barça eSports from the Superliga was also interested.
A hard worker in a young roster
According to our sources, Potent’s strong work ethic played a major role in securing his spot during the offseason. With this signing, Vitality is counting on him to help establish a solid framework within a roster that will consist mainly of young players. Although Potent is the first new addition to the team, Vitality.Bee is expected to lock in several rookies for its new project in the coming days.
Potent is one of the most promising French talents in the toplane. He first gained recognition on the European ladder as one of the region’s best Fiora players. His rise began in the LFL Div2 during the 2024 Summer Split with Joblife in LFL Division 2, where he quickly established himself as one of the top performers in his role.
In 2025, the French toplaner joined Esprit Shōnen, a team that dominated the Division 2 competition throughout the year. The squad notably won both the Winter and Summer Splits, before capping off an exceptional season by securing victory in the Promotion Tournament. There, they defeated and took over BDS Academy’s slot — earning by themselves their promotion after their application to join the LFL was denied by Riot Games a year ago.
Played EMEA Masters before stepping into the LFL
Potent’s impressive year didn’t end there. During the 2025 Summer EMEA Masters, he briefly substituted for Gentle Mates after their starting toplaner, Panagiotis "Empyros" Tantis, suffered a left elbow injury. Despite joining a roster he had no prior experience with, Potent played the first three games of the tournament, delivering solid performances and helping the team secure two wins out of three, including one against eventual champions Karmine Corp Blue. His showing during that event boosted his stock heading into the offseason.
Vitality.Bee, one of the initial organizations of the LFL in 2019, is now looking to strengthen its roster following an offseason of upheaval. The team was previously linked to a merger project with BDS Academy — a plan that would have allowed both organizations to share resources within the domestic ecosystem — but the project was ultimately denied by Riot Games at the last minute.
