Toplaner Mehdi “Potent” Ahmed Bouchaffra is set to join Esprit Shōnen in the LFL Division 2, according to sources close to Sheep Esports. After Maxim "kPr" Grebonos and Cédric "Eyliph" Robert, Potent will be the third toplaner to represent the organization in Div2. He is also the second player to join the team for the 2025 season, after AD Carry Franciszek "Harpoon" Gryszkiewicz.

Primarily known for being one of the best Fiora in the world, Potent had finally decided to diversify his champion pool to get a chance in the professional scene. The gamble paid off, as he joined Joblife in LFL Division 2 during Summer Split 2024. After a very promising start, and without playing his beloved champion once, Potent and JL finished third in the regular season behind Ici Japon Corp and Montpellier HSC with a 13-5 record. However the playoffs didn't go quite as smoothly, as after a 3-0 win over Project Conquerors, JL suffered the same fate at the hands of eventual finalists IziDream, putting an end to their run.

Nevertheless, Potent was able to prove that he had the level necessary to rub shoulders with the other Division 2 toplaners, and did so without picking his Fiora once throughout the season. Next year will therefore be one of confirmation, when he will surely try to achieve better results within Esprit Shōnen.

While ES's debuts have been rather successful with a fourth-place finish and thus a playoff qualification in their very first split, the rest of the season has proved rather disappointing. The team finished 5th in the Spring Split playoffs and failed to qualify for the Summer Split's ones, finishing 7th.

The team had also undergone several changes within its roster, moving from Scott "Tonerre" Ménard to Prodromos "Pretty" Kevezitidis and then to Alexander "HAWHAW" Fedde on the midlane. Eyliph and Andreas "Skude" Skude had replaced kPr and Antoine "Icarus" Even on the topside during the Summer Split, with only the botlane remaining unchanged during the 2024 season. The team will surely be looking for more stability next year but one thing is certain, Potent and Esprit Shōnen have a common goal for next year: to achieve better results.
