Kyeong "
Photon" Gyu-tae and Seo "
TolanD" Sang-won will join
Beşiktaş Esports and therefore join the Turkish Championship League (
TCL) next season, sources told Sheep Esports. They are the two first recruits from the organization and will replace the two previous imports from the team, Lee "Hoon" Jang-hoon and Kim "Nakyung" Na-gyeong.
Photon and TolanD are two talented players who have made their mark on the competitive
League of Legends scene in distinct ways. The duo reunites after playing together on
T1 Challengers throughout 2022. Since then, Photon has spent two years with
Team Vitality in the LEC, where he was widely expected to remain given his strong performances. However, his career trajectory mirrors that of Adam "Adam" Maanane, as many teams opted to bring fresh talent to the toplane.
Despite this, Photon built a solid reputation and boasts a naturally high level of play, making him a potential powerhouse in the TCL. Before his time in Europe, he developed his skills over three years in the LCK Challengers League (LCK CL), establishing himself as a standout talent in South Korea’s developmental system.
TolanD, after years of competing in the Korean Academy circuit and alongside Photon with T1 Challengers in 2022, made a strong impression this year with
Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition, where he won the Summer Split. Now, with Photon seeking redemption and TolanD striving to prove he deserves a spot in a major league, the two players face the challenge of elevating Beşiktaş Esports to new heights. After a strong second-place finish in the TCL Spring Split, Beşiktaş faltered in the Summer, finishing sixth and failing to progress through the Last Chance Qualifier for the EMEA Masters. Photon and TolanD will now aim to restore the team's momentum and solidify their reputations on the international stage as they are the first two pieces of the roster.
